After tests, it was reported that his life was not in danger.

This was all thanks to the defibrillator that was implanted in Perin after his first heart attack in October 2022. Perin had already survived a heart attack during a friendly match between VC Greenyard Maaseik and Lindemans Aalst. He lost consciousness and collapsed on the court, where a referee began the rescue action by performing cardiac massage. The volleyball player was saved, and a cardioverter-defibrillator was implanted in the hospital to prevent similar situations.

After several months, the device saved Perin’s life while he was competing on the court with his brother Pierre’s team. “Martin Perin fell unexpectedly. The defibrillator immediately restored his consciousness. Thanks to the quick and competent help of several rescuers, the situation was brought under control.

An hour later, Martin was able to calm his teammates,” the volleyball player’s club reported after the incident. The match was also successfully completed, and Maaseik did not lose focus, winning 3:0 against Waremme (25:23, 25:21, 25:12). It is known that Perin will miss the team’s next match in the CEV Cup against Fenerbahce Istanbul. El club del jugador de voleibol informó después del incidente: “Martin Perin cayó inesperadamente. El desfibrilador le devolvió inmediatamente el conocimiento. Gracias a la ayuda rápida y competente de varios rescatistas, la situación fue controlada. Una hora después, Martin pudo calmar a sus compañeros de equipo”.

El partido también se completó con éxito, y Maaseik no perdió la concentración, ganando 3:0 contra Waremme (25:23, 25:21, 25:12). Se sabe que Perin se perderá el próximo partido del equipo en la Copa CEV contra Fenerbahce Estambul.
